Libertyville boys lacrosse team started out slow.
But it didn’t stay that way on Monday night. The Wildcats came out blazing in the second half and wound up taking down Stevenson 10-7. They scored eight times after intermission.
Balanced scoring did the trick for Libertyville, as six different players put in goals. Nick Ward, Zach Labrum, AJ Schmidt and Connor Loucks each score two goals each.
Luke Stelzner and Zach Friedman also tallied, while Phil Santi finished with three assists.
Anthony Zotto controlled the face-offs the whole game, giving the Wildcats added possessions.
The defense struggeld early, allowing three of the game’s first four goals. But Clay Cusek, Drew Krininsky, JP Pistella and Kevin Verkler held tight against the Patriots offense while goalie Cole Blazer had seven saves.
