Libertyville Police Blotter for May 16

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
LIBERTYVILLE
ALCOHOL
Jessyca Scarpone, 20, of 14688 Old Rockland Road, Green Oaks, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor after she and two other friends were seen walking in and out of the roadway at 2:25 a.m. May 11 on South Milwaukee Avenue. Scarpone was placed under arrest for underage drinking, reports say. The other two friends were of legal drinking age and were escorted home by police. Scarpone was later released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a June 13 court date in Mundelein Branch Court.
DUI
Zenon Gomez-Gallardo, 27, of 48 S. Archer, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI (over .08) and no valid driver’s license on May 13. Gomez-Gallardo was stopped at 3 a.m. near Milwaukee Avenue and Golf Road when police suspected a possible DUI as he was driving well below the posted speed limit, reports say. Failing field sobriety tests, Gomez-Gallardo was arrested and the vehicle was towed, reports say. He was processed and later released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and was given a June 8 court date at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
NO VALID DRIVER’S
LICENSE
Jermaine A. Moodie, 31, of 2120 Emerson, Evanston, was charged with no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding at approximately 6:10 a.m. May 10 after he was stopped for speeding on South Milwaukee Avenue near Condell Drive. A records check revealed that Moodie was wanted on a warrant from Wheeling Police for failure to appear on a charge of possession of cannabis. Moodie was also driving without a driver’s license and without insurance on the vehicle. He was also wanted on a warrant by Wheeling Police. He was taken into custody and processed. Moodie was later released after posting $500 cash for the Wheeling warrant and was given June 22 court date at the Municipal Court in Rolling Meadows. On the Libertyville charges, Moodie posted a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and was given a May 10 court date in Mundelein Branch Court.
REVOKED DRIVER’S
LICENSE
Jose Alberto Estrada, 38, of 1019 Eighth St., Waukegan, was charged with driving while license revoked and expired registration sticker after a traffic stop at 10:30 p.m. May 9 on St. William Drive, just east of Butterfield Road. Estrada was stopped by police for an expired registration sticker on his vehicle, reports say. A records check revealed that Estrada’s license was revoked and he was arrested and the vehicle was towed. He was later released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and was given a June 20 court date in Mundelein Branch Court.
SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE
Jesse J. Lewis, Jr. 25, of 38676 N. Rosedale Ave., Wadsworth, was arrested for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped by police at approximately 6:10 a.m. on May 7 on Milwaukee Avenue near Broadway Street. He was additionally cited with operating an uninsured vehicle. Lewis was taken into custody and later released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a pending court date of May 23 in Mundelein Branch Court.
Tina A. Ryan, 41, of 1976 Amber Prairie Way, Lake Villa, was charged with driving while license suspended on May 7. Police stopped her vehicle at 3:40 p.m. on southbound Milwaukee Avenue near Route 60 after responding to a complaint of an erratic driver. Ryan was found to be driving with a suspended driver’s license and she was arrested and the vehicle towed, reports say. She was later released after signing a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a June 20 court date in Mundelein Branch Court.
David E. Arroyo, 37, of 7E East Lake Shore Drive, Round Lake Park, was charged with driving while license suspended and improper lane usage on May 13. At approximately 2 a.m., Arroyo’s vehicle was seen jumping a curb and driving out of his lane of traffic and he was stopped by police near Winchester Road and Milwaukee Avenue, reports say. He was found to be driving with a suspended driver’s license and was arrested and the vehicle towed. Arroyo was later released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and given a June 13 court date in Mundelein Branch Court.
WARRANT
Michael J. Deram, 22, of 1125 Crestfield Ave., Libertyville, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. May 9 at his residence on a warrant out of Will County for failure to appear on a DUI charge. Deram was taken into custody and processed. After posting the $1,000 bond, Deram was released with a court date on June 8 at the Will County Courthouse.
