The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

LIBERTYVILLE

ALCOHOL

A driver and four passengers were arrested on alcohol-related charges following a traffic stop on April 26. The driver, Tom A. Alexander, 26, of 1821 Greenfield Ave., North Chicago, was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, contributing to the delinquency of a child and speeding. Smelling alcohol inside the vehicle, Alexander and his four passengers were asked to exit the vehicle for questioning. Of his four passengers, one was a 17-year-old female juvenile. Police discovered open alcohol inside the vehicle and that most of the occupants had been drinking. All subjects were arrested and cited on various charges. The passengers charged were Darian M. Obryant, 20, of 2303 Krisman St., North Chicago, who was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and illegal transportation of alcohol; Tucker Cortez, 21, of 1112 Lincoln, North Chicago, charged with illegal transportation of alcohol and resisting and obstructing a peace officer; Ebony Herrod, 20, of 39178 Welsh Lane, Beach Park, charged with illegal transportation of alcohol and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor; and a 17 year-old female juvenile charged with illegal transportation of alcohol. After processing, the adult subjects were released on individual $1,500 personal recognizance bonds and given a court date of May 7 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan. The juvenile female was referred to juvenile court and released to the custody of a family member.

BATTERY

Police responded at 2 a.m. on April 29 to a restaurant in the 1500 block of South Milwaukee Avenue on a report of several people fighting. Arrested in the incident were Christian A. Gonzalez, 21, of 834 S. Ridge Ave., Mundelein, who was charged with battery, and Rolando V. Murillo, 18, of 304 Wilton Lane, Mundelein, who was charged with aggravated assault. The incident started as domestic disturbance between Gonzalez and his girlfriend after a witness observed Gonzalez throw her to the ground. An employee of the restaurant attempted to intervene, but was struck in the face by Gonzalez with a closed fist. The employee was also threatened by another patron and friend of Gonzalez’s. Murillo who was seen wielding an aluminum baseball bat. Both victims refused treatment by paramedics. Both Gonzalez and

Murillo were processed and released on individual $1,500 personal recognizance bonds with a court date of May 16 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.

DRIVING WHILE
SUSPENDED

Larry King III, 57, of 540 East 36, Chicago, was charged with driving while license suspended and improper lane usage on April 27 after his vehicle was seen repeatedly driving across the dotted white lines in his lane of traffic. King was found to be driving on a suspended license and he was arrested and the vehicle towed, reports say. He was later released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a pending court date of June 13 in Mundelein Branch Court.

Paul Belcher, 29, of 159 Woodlake Blvd., 1108, Gurnee, was charged with driving while license suspended and wrong direction on a one-way street on April 28. The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on School Street. Belcher was also found to driving on a suspended license and he was arrested, reports say. After processing, he was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a pending court date scheduled for May 23 in Mundelein Branch Court.

NO VALID DRIVER’S
LICENSE

Carlos Diego Rojas Moreno, 28, of 16255 W. Buckey Road, Libertyville, was charged with no valid driver’s license and speeding after he was stopped at approximately 6 a.m. on April 24 on Winchester Road near Technology Way. He did not have a valid driver’s license and he was arrested and taken into custody, reports say. After processing, he was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a pending court date on May 9 in Mundelein Branch Court.
