Bella is a perfect dog, an instant dog, a “move-right-in” dog. Her late owner, who died with Bella at his side, would probably agree.

After her owner died, Bella ended up in a high-kill shelter in New Mexico. Like Scarlett, the featured Pet of the Week from two weeks ago, Bella made the long journey from Albuquerque to Chicago.

Like Scarlett, Bella is looking for a home.

Bella means “beautiful” in Italian and Bella is certainly that both inside and out. She is gentle, calm and beautifully trained. The only thing in the world that Bella wants is to be by the side of a loved human. She is fine with other dogs but does not want to play with them. She just wants to be with people.

Bella doesn’t need to be crated. She is perfectly housebroken and has been left alone in a house for over eight hours without an accident. She loves people so much that she doesn’t even want to run in the backyard without a person there to keep her company.

Bella deserves the very best home for the rest of her life. She is six years old. She has loved and lost that love. In her first home, she went everywhere with her person and ate what he ate (not a very healthy diet – Bella is in the process of losing a few pounds).

Bella loves everyone, but she certainly has a special place in her heart for men. Yet she still adores me and will follow me everywhere as well.

She is a perfect-sized dog, too. At her ideal weight (45 pounds) she is classically medium-sized. Not too small and not too large.

Bella is current on all vaccinations and has her rabies shot. She is heartworm negative. Please call me, Pamela Kramer, at (847) 323-6411 or email pamanimalrescue@gmx.com for more information about her and to arrange a visit. Understand that she needs a home as wonderful as she is. Also, Scarlett, the beautiful coonhound who made the trip with Bella is still looking for a home.

Pet of the Week is written by Pamela Kramer. You may also email any animal questions to me at Pamanimalrescue@gmx.com. If you adopted through Pet of the Week and want to let me know how your dog or cat is doing, please send me an email!
