Sue Bob looks like a Schnoodle – that adorable mix of poodle and schnauzer. Apparently, she has poodle smarts as she is eager to please.

Whoever had Sue Bob first certainly didn’t have poodle smarts – she arrived at Save-a-Pet in terrible condition. Her nails were so long they curled under and her fur was matted horribly.

Now her apricot color shines through, and her coat is soft and snuggly. She loves everyone she meets including dogs and cats.

Sue Bob’s needs are simple. Grooming every eight weeks or so, two meals a day, and lots and lots of love.

Why adopt a dog from a shelter? There are many reasons, but the most compelling one is that for every shelter dog adopted, a life is saved. Even adopting from a no-kill shelter like Save-a-Pet saves a life because when one kennel is empty, another dog is saved from a high-kill shelter.

Another important reason to adopt from a shelter is that the dog you adopt will be a very special one. Shelter dogs have seen the dark side of life. They know what it’s like to be one of many homeless dogs living in a cage.

These dogs appreciate a loving home because they know what life is like without one. And you will see the gratitude in their eyes each and every day.

Come and visit Sue Bob. See the warmth and light in her eyes, and just maybe, you’ll decide to bring that warmth home with you.

Save-A-Pet is committed to saving animals without the killing. They take in animals from many sources and the volunteers work with dogs. While you’re at Save-a-Pet, make a donation if you can. The cats and dogs there will appreciate it.

Save-A-Pet is a not-for-profit, no-kill shelter dedicated to finding loving, quality homes for each cat and dog in its care. Pets are sheltered indefinitely. The shelter strives to create an environment which enhances both awareness of and support for the humane treatment of animals. Save-A-Pet is located at 31664 North Fairfield Road, Grayslake. Their phone number is: (847) 740-7788 and their email address is www.save-a-pet-il.org. You can also see their animals at www.petfinder.com.
