Pet of the Week: Sunny lives up to his name
Sunny
Updated: March 5, 2012 9:44AM
Sunny is a handsome Shepherd mix who is a happy, happy dog.
His happiness starts when he gets to know you. At first, he is a little wary of strangers because of the idiots who raised him with abuse. However, after a few visits, he is trusting and willing to let his inner lover emerge.
This guy loves to play – winter or summer. Tug-of-rope is one of his favorite games and he just loves to fetch the tugging rope.
When a volunteer took Sunny home for a day, he was extremely well- behaved. However, because of his trust issues, it’s recommended that someone come and visit him a few times before adoption.
Sunny is not a young dog, but the volunteers really want this dog – who is capable of giving so much love – to get to experience the affection and warmth that living with a family has to offer.
Sunny would love a fenced yard to play in and a home without too much activity. If you come to visit, don’t overlook the dogs who may be frightened in their cages. Talk to the volunteers and ask which dogs might best suit your household.
Some of the dogs show poorly in their kennel but are wonderful outside. Don’t pass them by – don’t pass Sunny by, either.
Save-A-Pet is committed to saving animals without the killing. They take in animals from many sources and the volunteers work with dogs. While you’re at Save-a-Pet, make a donation if you can. The cats and dogs there will appreciate it.
