Woman ‘enraged’ when Libertyville cops called for child left in car

LIBERTYVILLE — A woman who left her 3-year-old daughter in a running car while shopping at a Libertyville Walgreens later cursed out a concerned witness who called police, then resisted arrest, according to police.
On Feb. 24, a man called police when he saw the girl in an unlocked, unattended vehicle that was parked and running at the Walgreens at 1770 North Milwaukee Ave., a report from police said.
The caller told police he had been waiting next to the car for two or three minutes for the driver to return.
Police went to the Walgreens and when 23-year-old Danielle A. Barbour exited the store, they questioned her and found that her driver’s license was suspended, the report said.
Barbour then became “enraged,” according to police, and started to yell obscenities at the man who had called police. She was placed under arrest and resisted officers in the process, the report said.
She was charged with disorderly conduct, assault, and resisting a peace officer; and ticketed for driving while her license was suspended.
The 3-year-old was not harmed and was turned over to her grandmother, police said.
Barbour was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in court at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in Waukegan.
