LIBERTYVILLE — A contractor received minor burns and smoke inhalation during a basement construction project.
The call came in at 5:14 p.m. Tuesday for the home at 739 E. Rockland Road and the small fire in the basement was quickly extinguished. A contractor working at the home was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, for treatment. Assistant Chief Brian Conner said Wednesday he had minor injuries, which included burns and smoke inhalation.
The call was struck shortly after 8 p.m. after firefighters from Mundelein, Countryside and Knollwood assisted. The home’s owner and family were able to return to the home. The exact cause is still being investigated, said Conner.
