Schostok installed as first veep
Hon. Mary S. Schostok of Libertyville, an Illinois Appellate Court Judge in the 2nd Judicial District, was installed as first vice president of the Illinois Judges Association (IJA) at the organization’s annual meeting, held recently at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
Schostok has been an IJA officer since 2008, having held the posts of treasurer, secretary and third vice president, and most recently, second vice president.
Prior to her appointment, then election to the Appellate Court, she was acting chief judge in the 19th Judicial Circuit in Lake County where she presided over matters in the Law Division. She was appointed to the circuit court in 2001 after serving as an associate judge for two years.
Schostok was assistant state’s attorney in the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office in Waukegan.
Zengeler Cleaners celebrates 155th anniversary
Zengeler Cleaners -- which operates in Libertyville -- is celebrating 155 years serving customers throughout northeastern Illinois. The family-owned and operated company, founded in 1857 by John Zengeler, has grown to become the Midwest’s largest cleaner under great-great grandson Tom Zengeler, the fifth generation of family leadership. Zengeler Cleaners has eight locations in Lake and Cook Counties.
Tom and his two brothers - Robert Zengeler, Jr., and Michael - have each worked for the company for 34 years or more, combining for 109 years of service. Their service pales in comparison to their father, Robert, Sr. Bob has been with the company since his discharge from military service in 1951, bringing the total to 170 years of loyalty for the Zengeler family.
Dancenter North to hold registration
Dancenter North announces registration for its fall semester of classes, which begins on Sept. 1 and continues through Jan. 18. Registration will begin on Aug.1.
Dancenter North offers classes for all ages and levels, from pre-ballet for three year olds to fitness classes for adults. The studio also offers ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, modern, singing, and classes especially for boys. The Dancenter North teaching staff is comprised of respected performers from prestigious companies such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and the Joffrey Ballet.

Condell to discuss link of poor
diet to cancer
On July 20, Advocate Condell will focus on cancer-fighting foods. According to the American Cancer Society, research shows that poor diet and not being active are two key factors that can increase cancer risk.
More information about the link between cancer and diet and wellness will be available at Condell’s booth at the Mundelein Farmers Market. Members of the hospital’s wellness staff also will be on hand with information on weight management and calculating Body Mass Index, a key measure of healthy weight.
