MBX Systems has signed a seven-year lease for 83,944 square feet of light industrial space at 1900 W. Winchester Road in Libertyville, which will serve as the firm’s new corporate headquarters, and primary manufacturing and distribution facility.

MBX Systems, now based in Wauconda, is a manufacturer of custom-built server appliances for software vendors, expects to expand operations and increase its workforce by 25 percent.

“MBX has grown consistently since 1995,” said Tom Crowley, CEO. “Between 2010 and 2011, we experienced a 90 percent year-over-year growth in new business for made-to-order server appliances. The move will quadruple our physical space and allow an eightfold expansion of our manufacturing floor. ”

MBX Systems has called Lake County home since 2000.

The building is a former Motorola design and engineering center. MBX said it plans to invest nearly $2 million in remodeling and equipment in the building.

Libertyville officials have agreed to change the address of the property, located just south of the Libertyville Township Soccer Complex along Route 45, to 1200 Technology Way, the company said.
