Chicago’s most congested stretch of road ranked 14th worst nationwide in 2011, compared to fourth the year before: The inbound Kennedy Expressway from the Sayre Avenue exit, through the Loop and onto the outbound Dan Ryan to Pershing Road during afternoon rush.

Here are the other Chicago-area roads that made the national rankings, noted by morning or afternoon rush hour, and with national rank in parentheses.
