• First Presbyterian Church offers an experiential learning experience about Ash Wednesday that includes burning palms to make ashes, simple singing, Scripture in language young children understand and a short reflection to help children understand Lent, geared to preschool children and older. Everyone is invited to this event on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. The gathering ends with supper. Call (847) 234-6250 to make a reservation.

The Church of St. Mary in Lake Forest will host The Healing Journey, a confidential six-week grief support group for those who have lost loved ones and are still struggling to move on with life. The group -- which starts Feb. 21 from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. -- is open to parishioners and non-parishioners. Advance registration required. Call (847) 922-5031 for more information.
