A second full runway fashion show has been added to this year’s Fashion Week Highland Park, Sept. 6-8, in Port Clinton Square, 600 Central Ave., because last year’s show sold out quickly.

However, the fashion shows, when models strut out the newest styles available at local shops, are just one element of the three-day event featuring more than 50 businesses specializing in fitness, beauty, fashion and event planning organized by Downtown Highland Park Alliance.

For example, free fitness classes, as well as complimentary services from salons and spas, are being offered today until 4 p.m. On Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., entertainment businesses and event planners will showcase merchandise and provide tips on throwing the perfect party for all occasions.

The fashion shows will be held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday in the Square. Entrance to the show is $10. Funds raised at the show will benefit the Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem at Highland Park Hospital. The first 150 attendees at each fashion show will receive a gift bag with items from downtown Highland Park businesses.
