Nearly 300 guests were on hand on March 12 at the third annual Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts luncheon honoring Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award-winner Julianna Margulies at JW Marriott Chicago, 151 W Adams St. Following a VIP reception, leaders from Chicago’s business and civic communities enjoyed an engaging lunchtime interview with Ms. Margulies who currently stars in the hit CBS drama “The Good Wife”, about her stage, television and film career by Steppenwolf Artistic Director Martha Lavey in a format similar to Inside the Actors Studio. Previous honorees include ensemble members Joan Allen and Martha Plimpton.
The sold-out event raised $150,000 for Steppenwolf and the theater’s Professional Leadership Program, a nationally-recognized training program for young professionals seeking hands-on experience in theater administration, production and technology. The program includes apprenticeships, internships and a multicultural fellowship.
The co-chairmen for the 3rd annual Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts included Carole L. Brown, Elizabeth Connelly, Nene Foxhall, Donna La Pietra and Jan Melk.
