Expect inspired performances when more than 200 Mundelein Park and Recreation District dance students perform “Our Inspirations.” The annual dance recitals for preschoolers through adults are at 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the Mundelein High School gym, 1350 W. Hawley St.
“The teachers selected certain songs that were inspiring to them in one way or another,” said Myra Tatarowicz, recreation supervisor. “Throughout the show program, the teachers have added comments as to why they were inspired by a particular song. Some of them thought of family members or significant situations, either personally or in their dancing or with their classes.”
Dance students will perform to numbers such as “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “The Edge of Glory,” “I Dreamed a Dream,” “When I Look to the Sky” and “The Climb.”
Tatarowicz reported that some of the performers are award-winning dancers.
Tickets, $7, can be ordered in advance.
