1. Opening night wine and cheese reception for “Art is … Lasting Landscape” will be held from 5-8 p.m. April 13 at the Deer Path Art League & Gallery, located in the Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. The exhibit of traditional images, on display through May 25, features unique use of color and technique by landscape artists. Book dramatist Barbara Rinella will bring to life The Paris Wife, Paula McLain’s novel that captures the voice and heart of Ernest Hemingway’s first wife, Hadley, as she struggles with her roles as a woman and tries to find her place in the intoxicating and tumultuous world of Paris in the 1920s.
