Libertyville police blotter for Jan. 31, 2013

The following incidents were listed in the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest by police does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
BATTERY
Jeffrey Velmont, 44, of 15192 W. Rockland Road, Libertyville, was charged Jan. 7 with aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon. According to a police report, officers responded to a 911 call and found a female victim to be injured and in need of medical care. She was transported by paramedics to Advocate Condell Medical Center. Velmont was placed taken into custody pending a bond review hearing.
BURGLARY
Three vehicles parked in a lot at 742 E. Park were damaged Jan. 19. Windows were broken and purses stolen from inside the vehicles. The thefts occurred between 4:15 and 6:45 p.m. Police are investigating.
DUI
Daniel Mosconi, 51, of 745 Benson Lane, Libertyville, was charged Jan. 16 with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol level above .08. He also was cited for illegal lane use and operating an uninsured vehicle. He is scheduled in court Feb. 8.
Prajwal Shetty, 28, of 381 S. Litchfield Drive, Round Lake, was charged Jan. 19 with driving under the influence of alcohol. Shetty also was cited for illegal lane use. He is scheduled in court Feb. 22.
DRUGS
Jordan Watkins, 19, of 14812 W. Imperial Drive, Libertyville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. According to a police report, officers responded to a complaint and questioned the occupants of a suspicious vehicle at Blueberry and Pond Ridge roads. A search of the vehicle turned up Watkins’ backpack, police said, which was found to have an empty jar that smelled of marijuana, a plastic bag with a green residue and a scale. Watkins is scheduled in court Feb. 20.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Jeffrey Grzonka, 34, of 113 Bay Road, Fox Lake, was charged Jan. 19 with criminal damage to property. According to a police report, Grzonka punched a window inside the Metra train station at 200 Lake St. while having an argument with another individual. The window did not break, police said, but damage was made to the frame, with parts breaking off. Grzonka is scheduled in court Feb. 20.
